Battle Scriptures — Scripture Reflection #043

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (New Living Translation)

8 We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

When life starts “life-ing,” and the stress and the struggles start piling up, it is imperative that we have battle scriptures at the ready. Trying to take these battles head-on almost always results in us becoming discouraged, stumbling, or downright falling on our faces.

Use today’s battle scriptures whenever you feel the heat of life being turned up. Remember that God is your sword and shield, and with Him, you will never fall. Remember that with Christ, you are victorious!

A medieval knight in chainmail armor holds a large sword and shield. The scene conveys strength and readiness, with a historical and serious tone. This represents how we must have our battle scriptures ready, just like how a knight has his sword and shield.
