Living according to the truth — Scripture Reflection #058

3 John 1:3-4 (New Living Translation)

3 Some of the traveling teachers recently returned and made me very happy by telling me about your faithfulness and that you are living according to the truth. 4 I could have no greater joy than to hear that my children are following the truth.

Living according to the truth is a two-fold blessing. First, it brings blessings upon you as you commit to doing what God has asked of you. Second, it blesses those around you who have been praying for you. Moreover, living according to the truth encourages others to do the same. I have found that it is easier for me to walk with God when I have people around me who are walking it too. I can enjoy their victories with them as well as be there for them when they are going through a particularly tough struggle. I am sure you can think of similar times as well.
