He is coming soon, and we must be ready — Scripture Reflection #059

Revelation 3:11 (New Living Translation)

11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.”

As we weather this storm of life, we pick up certain qualities that help us persevere and stand strong in the face of the relentless winds and insurmountable waves. We learn to trust God, that He is capable of bringing us through it all to our destination. We find His joy that lifts our eyes and hearts, and is directly counter to our dire circumstances. We experience His peace that quiets our panicking, anxiety-ridden minds and surpasses all logical sense. We begin to know a Father’s love that requires no condition and has no comparison. And through it all, in all the qualities that we pick up, we develop a faith in Him who is Himself, faithful. We begin to believe that He can cut through those impossible winds and bring us over those heaven-high waves because He said so. And because we have seen Him do it. Maybe just in smaller ways, but then, why can’t He do it in bigger and bigger ways? It is that faith we find, and all the other qualities that we have picked up along the way, that we must hold on to. For He is coming soon, and we must be ready.

A towering wave crashes dramatically against a solitary lighthouse on a rocky coast under stormy skies, conveying a sense of power and resilience. This represents how we must stand strong in our faith, for He is coming soon, and we must be ready.
