More than enough — Scripture Reflection #090

Exodus 35:21; 36:3,5 (New Living Translation)

35:21 All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the LORD. They brought all the materials needed…

36:3 Moses gave [the expert craftsmen] the materials donated by the people of Israel as sacred offerings for the completion of the sanctuary. But the people continued to bring additional gifts each morning. 5 They went to Moses and reported, “The people have given more than enough materials to complete the job the LORD has commanded us to do!”

Let our generosity in supplying for God’s work overflow until there is “more than enough” to complete the jobs He has given us to take care of.

A simple drawing of a hand giving a pink heart to two open palms. This represents how we are called by God to give of ourselves to His work. Let us do so until there is "more than enough" for those who need it!

The Prayer: Lord, my Provider, please create within me a heart that is stirred to give. Prompt my spirit to lend what You have given me for the betterment of Your people. I pray that I would recognize opportunities where I can give generously of my time, resources, and talents, and then have the courage to follow through. Thank You for all that You have given me, Lord. Amen.
