God is with us — Scripture Reflection #087

Exodus 25:8-9 (New Living Translation)

8 “Have the people of Israel build Me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them. 9 You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the patterns I will show you.”

One thing I love about God is that, despite not needing us, He wants to be with us. God sent His only son to die for us just so that He could be closer to us. And no matter what, we can never get away from His love. Nothing can separate us from that reality (Romans 8:38-39).

Thousands of years ago, God gave Moses and the Israelites instructions to make a sanctuary for Him. He gave specific guidelines for how this Tabernacle was to be made so that His presence could rest among His people. Today, it is much the same, but with a different-looking temple. God was so deliberate in creating us, and now He resides in us through the Holy Spirit.

The Call: Take a moment to thank God for wanting to be with You, and for doing all He did so that it could be possible. Ask Him to deepen your desire to be near Him.
