God Will Provide — Scripture Reflection #006

Matthew 6:31–33 (New Living Translation)

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

I am getting married soon, and I find myself in a place where I am concerned and stressed about providing for my future spouse. What if I fail to provide? What if I cannot give her the things she wants? What if I fall short of the life that I want to give to her?

As these thoughts slither their way into my head and I am tempted to entertain them, I believe it is especially important for me to meditate on today’s scriptures. God has never let me down. Not once. He has always provided me with what I needed, no matter the occasion!

Our Good Father knows our needs, and He is happy to give us good gifts. We just need to seek Him and His kingdom, live righteously, and trust that He will provide!
