Have Confidence! — Worship Moment v. 10
Who You Say I Am — Hillsong Worship
“Who the Son sets free
Oh, is free indeed
I am a child of God
Yes, I am.”

Once we accept that Jesus died and rose from the dead for us, and that we are made right with God because of this fact, we gain the Holy Spirit and a new identity; we become children of God. Romans 8:14-15 states,
“14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
Part of our identity as the Children of God means that we are part of God’s family forever. With that new familial status comes freedom. When Jesus sacrificed Himself for us, He bought our freedom from sin and death. And as Jesus says in John 8:36,
“36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
So if you are like me, and you repeatedly find yourself struggling with the same temptations, if you are wearily fighting the same battles and not seeing the progress you feel that you should, if you don’t feel that God is coming through how you thought He would, have confidence. Have confidence because the victory was won the moment Jesus rose from the grave and secured our freedom.
The end of our story has already been written. It is you and I standing tall and triumphant in the courts of Heaven, having overcome our weakness by the power of the Holy Spirit, worshipping God for His faithfulness to us. So walk a little more confidently today. Walk with your head up and your chest out, knowing that your future is secure in God’s hands.
The Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for dying on the cross for me. Thank You that, as I believe, I am made a child of God. Thank You, Father, for claiming me as your child and for the freedom that I inherit because I am Yours. I declare today that I have freedom in Your name, Jesus. No temptation or hardship is bigger than You. Have Your way in my life today, amen.
