Who else has run into problems that they just cannot seem to crack? You’ve thrown everything at it that you have ever learned in your life; heck, you’ve even thrown other people at the problems, and they just don’t come down. Maybe you have even already given it to God, seemingly to no avail. What do you even do at that point?
I have learned that in those times, you just keep giving those problems to God. You keep giving it to Him day after day, trusting that what you can’t do—what others haven’t been able to do for you—God, Your Hope and Savior, can do for you. And it may still take longer than you feel it should to be “resolved”, or maybe it will not even be resolved, but God’s grace is sufficient for you. In your weakness, in your desolation, in your tears, and in your hurt, God is enough. His grace is sufficient. Paul learned it and said it best in 2 Corinthians 12:1-10, “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
And I know it is hard to delight in our pain and weakness—I can’t do it without the Holy Spirit’s prompting—but it makes all the difference. Knowing that God is greater than our battles, our problems, and our pain, and that He wants to help us—that He can help us—should encourage us to give them to Him of our own accord. After all, there are just problems only God can fix.
“There are just some battle flesh and blood can’t win.
There will be some moments that just don’t make sense.
Can’t see it now, but I’m still convinced;
There are just problems only God can fix.”
The Calling: So I urge you today to hang in there. Your battle is to put your sword down and keep giving those problems to God. Get out of His way, and move only when He tells you to. Be patient and wait on Him. Then watch as He makes the changes He wants to in you and for you. You will be okay.
